Shared reading - The Kiwi
As a class, we read lots of facts on the Kiwi. Children had to find the key fact in each paragraph. Once we had read the text, children went off in groups and wrote down one fact per card. The next step was to then group (classify) facts into certain categories and come up with a sub heading. They did this all by themselves (Yahoo!). Below are the progressions of the lesson.
